Film çevrildiği sırada 23 yaşında olan John Travolta'nın dansları ve filmin şarkıları hala hatırlarda.

2000’li yıllara girdik gireli “nostalji” kelimesinin bizim için bambaşka bir anlamı var. Özellikle müzik ve sinema söz konusu olunca nostaljik rüzgarlar alıp bizi çocukluğumuza götürüyor.

Şimdi biz 1970'li veya 1980'li yılların nostaljisini yapıyoruz ya arada. İşte Grease filmi de 1970'li yıllarda, 1950'li yılların nostaljik bir parodisini yapmıştı. Ve biz şimdi bu ‘nostaljik’ komedinin nostaljisini yapabiliriz çünkü bu film yapılalı 30 yıl oldu! (İlk defa gösterime çıkışı 1 Haziran 1978)

Filmin konusu:

Grease, komedi unsurları taşıyan müzikal bir filmdi. Film çevrildiği sırada 23 yaşında olan John Travolta'nın dansları ve filmin şarkıları hala hatırlarda.

Filmin konusu 1959 yılında Güney Kaliforniya'daki Rydell Lisesi'nde geçer. Yönetmen Randal Kleiser, 1950'li yılların 'o sıralar hatırlattığı' kostüm ve dekorlarla bizi karikatürize edilmiş bir geçmişe götürür.

Grease filminde, 1970'li yıllardan bakıldığında görülen 1950'li yılların gençliği; cinsel sorunlarla boğuşan, kendi duygularına yabancılaşmış ve bu yüzden sıklıkla aptal durumuna düşen figürlerle ifade edilir. James Dean filmlerine göndermeler sıklıkla yer alır.
